Came across this cool looking software today that I thought may be worth looking into
There is a free version(express) that only allows for 60 parts in a design. but it should do most of what we are after.

Creo Elements has a modest limit of 60 parts per document.
Check out the PDF for a compason (The express is the free version)...

Hi all,

I'm a bit amazed no one speaks about MOI (Moment of Inspiration), a fantastic and very easy nurbs modeler (few tools, great 2d editor, working fast in 3d like Sketchup)... Maybe i miss a post about it  . Try it and you will let Sketchup in the garage ... Maybe phlatbrothers could make a gcode script for it ... a lot a great scripts improve the final release. Fantastic 3d software .... The MOI master, Michael Gibson, come from Rhino team ....

Try it an you will...

Not sure if anyone has tried this before but I have a bit of experience with using Enroute on a large MultiCAM table before and found a really good program. It's pretty high dollar, I'm just lucky enough to have an NFR copy from a sales rep from a few years ago.

I thought you guys might like to check out this cool open source cad solution
Its different from most cad out there. Here is the description

OpenSCAD is a software for creating solid 3D CAD objects. It is free software and available for Linux/UNIX, MS Windows and Apples OS X.

Unlike most free software for creating 3D models (such as the famous application Blender) it does not focus on the artistic aspects of 3D modelling but instead on the CAD aspects. Thus it might be the...
