Which version of Sketchup is best for this machine? Seems the Pro version is $500. ( <my wife already), is there any stupendous benefits of the Pro version to justify the cost?, or is the freeware fine business?

It must have been hours and hours on end that Mark had spent designing this thing, the way it fits together with all the details. I know if I would have done it I would have spent the better part of six month at my computer.

Nobody told me how much time I'll spent putting little strips of tape on slots. OMG, there are almost 200 square nuts that has to be taped and then inserted. I've spent as much time on the taping as I've spent doing the rest of the putting...

We ordered #76 on May 8, 2011. I still do not have a complete machine, and to make matters worse, there really isn't a parts list to verify what I am missing. I finally managed to do the first cuts with my new Phlatprinter.
Most of the build went smoothly, thanks to the great video build log from Mark and Trish.

It is almost mesmerizing looking at it finally working ! I still have trouble cutting tabs though so I delayed testing the "engraving" function.

Had a few issues with the z axis being reversed, but found the answer on the forum. THen 2 setscrews came loose on the x and z axis. Retighted those and put a little locktite in. Now it looks to be working well!
