I have read a lot of posts here about Phlatprinter kits... I see where people said they ordered their kits... I have seen posts with links for additional information but the links are invalid... I read a post of a guy attempting to get a price for the Phlatprinter and was told to go to the parts list and mark one of everything and that would give him a good idea of the price... So I am assuming that one can not click on an order form to buy a phlatprinter but rather the kit is a parts...
The only way I figured out how to do it is to take the top rollers off and then take the top piece of MDF off. Then I can get the bit positioned so I can press the button near the collet to lock it while I loosen the collet and swapp bits. Is there any easier way? Am I missing something?
When I cut it out it starts in the middle of the square near the front of the machine. When it goes around the square and returns to the beginning it is off about 1/8" in the Direction the material moves. I don't think this would be calibration, more of a material slippage or missed steps problem. Is this common and is there a fix for it?

Also included in the zip file is the font that I used, It's great for foam as it has a strike-thru (?) in it that gives your cut-aways some support, not just a big open hole.

The dvd tutorial for the MK2 is a huge 4.34gig .wmv movie. I cut it up into 12 seperate movies, because it's hard to seek and find stuff, with such a long movie. Anyways, I thought it would be interesting to do it with a batch file, so it could be shared with all. Just unzip the files. There are two batch files (so only works with windows), which do the same thing. You can use either one. The only difference is with one, you have to DL the "Final Video.wmv" to the hard disk, 1st. With...

I am having such a blast with my MKII and now that I am venturing outside of FFF to 3mm Depron, I thought it would be nice if we could list the different cutting bits we have used with good or bad results. I know I have seen some of you post your particular uses but this could be a place for us to enlighten each other. Non of my local Hardware stores or Depots sell the smaller(under 1/8" Carbide style bits).
Please post with a link if possible!!
I have been reading the forums, and have learned more about cnc (and computers) in the last 2 weeks than I had in the last 20 yrs.
I have read that most laptops are incompatable with the Phlatprinter because there is no paralell port on them. I've also read that...
