Did you go for the MOSFET upgade as well?
I was looking at that board at one time too.
15 amps per phase is nice. I think if I ever decide to convert my mini mill or mini lathe to cnc I might go with that board.

I was hovering over that update but thought ahh, That's quite an upgrade from what I already have. I actually thought about a kit and build it myself. But hey I have some Christmas money budgeted for this thing and figured I'd go the ready built way. The stepper I bought came in finally and installed perfectly had to make a cutout for it. Only sticks out a 1/2". Keeps some air going around it also. I'm not wondering if I will need a bigger power supply now also. I do have some junk computers laying around I could work with as far as an upgrade power supply. I'm beyond having a "sweet looking printer"

    Frank,
Man, you should be able to move mountains with that controller :p . I used to get my power supplies from Circuit Specialists but they seem to be getting out of the power supply business. Here is a good one:

Make sure you do not exceed the control board max voltage.

I know it. Just covering my bases here. Thanks for that site Dan. I looked it over and went and ordered it. Can't beat the price and it fits right in with my setup.
    ;)

oops out of curiosity I called these fine folks and was promptly told it would take about 2 months to get this item in again. oh well I'll keep nosing around.

Take a look at this power supply - 24v for $24.00 Puts out 24v @12.5 amps which should allow for future stepper upgrades. I'm using a Hobbycnc board rated for up to 36v. I swapped my 12v/10amp supply for this one, checked vrefs (current indicator) to make sure they were at the proper level. Speed is much improved.
http://www.mpja.com/prodinfo.asp?number=17429+ps Replace "PhlatScripT" with the letters "p" "s" at the end of theURL - These two letters seem to translate automatically to the word "PhlatScript"

Thanks for the powersupply link bob, I've had good luck with MPJA. Yea, it looks like Circuit Specialists are getting out of power supplies. I grabbed a 30v? P/S for my HobbyCNC board and it now runs like a charm. From everyone I know, increasing voltage to just below max controller rating REALLY increases speeds (just don't go over max ratings). Most power supplies have a pot that you can adjust to get a couple extra volts with a slight decrease in amps. Keep in mind your requirements for amps too.

Eflybob, the "p" "s" has been taken out of the word scensoring. Now, if you type ps, it won't do that anymore. We'll clean up your link for you.

    Thanks and sorry about that.

Thank you! This Phlatprinter thing is addicting! I keep wandering down to the basement to cut things just because I can! If only the washer, dryer and laundry pile weren't sitting right next to the Phlatprinter!

How did this board work out? My easy-cnc board seems to be toast and don't really want to spend $150 for another easy-cnc board

Jeff you can always send it to Mechatronics for a repair. I was told (by him) that he charges $25 per axis.
You can contact Hector at Mechatronics Email: automecanica@hotmail.com
