    Thanks Tim and Si,
Si.. is this only relevant to the use and export of Illustrator? or could I apply this to Corel, I dont think I have the scale issue though!!!

    Si,
You are right about the mm scaling. I have rarely run into the 1/25.4 scaling except when finding someone's file who is from outside the US where the metric system is used.

    John,
When I imported your .dxf file, I would have had to scale it. I almost always have to scale the imported .dxf to 1/12. I've never found it to be a problem though since the first thing I do is to scale it even before exploding. I also always put a 22x42 rectangle in my drawings so it is really easy to find the scaling.

Thats a good idea Tim, I will try the safe area rectangle, that will sure make easy work for scaling right to the line!! Thank you again for all your help !!! :)

John, my post about Illustrator doesn't apply to exporting DXF's from Corel. I just thought i'd throw it out there for anyone else with problems. It's possible that if people try to import a DXF that they didn't create, then it could be that the file was originally exported incorrectly from Illustrator (or another application) which causes scaling issues.

Well Said my Friend!! Its good to put it in the back of your head so when you do run into a problem you might be able to evaluate it quicker :p There are so many variables between programs its hard to keep track!!

    Thanks

1/12 is most likely because you are importing an inch drawing in feet. I was never able to import dxf, the right scale until a few weeks ago when Mark mentioned the "option" button when you are importing a dxf. I checked and it was set to "feet" by default. Set it to "inch" and now finally works. I mean before this, stuff I exported from sketchup would not import back in the right scale. Now they do. You only need to set it once, and it remembers.
