    Hi all,

Before I go buy a bit of kit to run windows on I just want to make sure that the planet-cnc software will work on it.

Can't bring myself to install Windows on my workhorse machine. Just can't do it...

So there is a netbook that I can get for $150NZ but it runs windows CE. Will it work? If not will have to borrow the wifes Laptop until I can find something else that will work.

Kneedrag I think Crash was using a net book to run his Phlatprinter

I don't think Windows CE will work.
Most of the netbooks run a slimmed version of XP, or Windows 7 starter (Slimmed version of Win7), which from what I understand does work.
I asked the question back when the USB board first came out, and I believe the netbooks weren't recommended because of the processor, not the OS, but like Mark, I believe Crash has it working.

Not recommended/supported and not working are 2 different things ;-)

PlanetCNC USB board will not work with windows CE.
You should use XP, Vista or Windows7.

Thanks Kroko, I will not buy that particular netbook in that that case. Will keep my eyes open for one with XP or windows 7 rather.
