    Hi,

I buy whole sheets of 27" x 39" 6mm depron and am wondering how much cutting area I can expect from my Phlatprinter III? I want to setup a template in Sketchup using the cutting area.

you will be able to get the full 27" width, and subtract 4" from total length. (2" front, 2" back) That is if you put it right on the pressure roller. Some guys have taped a scrap to the front back to get the full length. I have done this with wood with great success, but have not tried it with foam.

Awesome, thanks. I think I will do the "tape scrap foam to the front and back" method so I can get the full length.

At the price of Depron sheets, I try to go max edge to edge with scrap foam as well. Few qucik pieces of painters tape and your set!

    Toxic toast,

I have found that you can only get 26.5 inches of cut in the width. and that is bumping the z gantry right up against each edge. I cut wings 26" wide and it works out pretty well. It would be difficult to successfully cut 26.5 width.

I probably want clear enough, but I was referring to the length, not width. You are right in that a full sheet will not cut because of max travel of the z gantry.
