We thought it was a good idea to let you know what's going on here as it has and is going to affect our presence on the Phlatforum.

You have all heard us talk about Aunt Helen over the years. We are very close with her. We visit her on Monday nights. Mark takes the trash out and she cooks us dinner. We have been doing this for years (since our Uncle passed away). We also talk with her daily, and when she was up and around, we would take her shopping, etc. and make sure she had everything she needs. She doesn't drive any more and hasn't in years.

Well, Aunt Helen isn't getting any younger and unfortunately, has run into some medical issues. This would be hard enough to deal with and get through but she refuses to go to the doctor. So, she struggles every day (both mentally and physically) and we are struggling right along with her (both mentally and physically :) ). She won't even take an aspirin. She has good days, bad days, and really bad days. While we have other family, they have not been very involved over the years. So, we're it.

Our time and thoughts are with Aunt Helen at the moment. We ask for your prayers and understanding as we go through this difficult time.

    Thank you,

    Mark and Trish

Mark and Trish, my throughts are with you and your aunt. I know what it can be like to work with (ad still love) a strong personality. My grandmother and my wifes grandmother are the same way. I lost my grandmother a few years ago....she was in charge until the last moments but appreciated every bit of irritation we gave her about meds, food, and the doctors.

My wifes grandmother is still with us and as head strong as ever even after the stroke she suffered in February. She's allowed 1 wiskey sour per week and come hell or high water she is going to get it....the docs said is was OK and it doesn't affect her meds. We let her think she is giving the proverbial finger to the doc and doing what she wants....

We'll hold the fort here....while we can't fill either of your shoes we'll work to keep folks moving in the right direction.

    Matthew

Thank you so much Matthew. We really appreciate the thoughts and your stories.

We would like to provide an update so you all know what's going on with us. At this point, we are taking it day by day. We are moving in to stay with Aunt Helen as she needs 24 hour care. We are looking into getting a nurse to come in during the day so we can continue to work. The family has stepped in and are doing their best to help where and when they can.

We thank God that Aunt Helen is home and appreciate you prayers.

    Thank you,
    Mark and Trish

Hey guyz. As most of you know by now from the announcement, Aunt Helen has passed away. We are very busy trying to get all of the funeral arrangements done but wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes. We know she is in a better place and that makes everything easier to handle.
