i have been seeing fellas having trobs with the calibration on the phlatprinter.....i plan to post a series of how i do it videos, hopefully it may help someone. it can be done from cheap measuring instruments that can be had at harbour fright. and a little ingenuity. cheap calipers, and a cheap dial indicator is all that's needed, although i have a height gage but it it not necessary. you just need a way to get a known value and the calipers work out fine. this first video shows how i calibrate the z-axis.....i will do the y and x on different videos. peace, randy.
btw, the z-axis is set to 1/4 steps and the value is 800.9060249

This is definitely the best way to calibrate. I would recommend for anyone that do not have the tools Randy has pointed out that you use those calibration numbers of his.

When I click on the video it says 'This Video has been removed by the user'3. Do you get something else? Do you get to see the video?

Will you put it up again, Randy?

BTW, did you see my question about the hotkeys in Mach3. Do you know how to activate them?

youram, its gone forever, sorry....as far as the hotkeys, all i use is the tab key to set-up the machine using the jog shuttle. i have set for .001 and use a piece of paper to touch off the z axis. randy.
