Thanks. I read the thread on the SeeTemp. Thanks for that info.
I wanted to try using mylar report covers we use here at work.
I ordered some bits from precisebits.com to try. Waiting on the weather
to clear. Lost power twice yesterday here in Western AR.

Let us know how this works if you end up testing. This would be good for smaller stencils, and easier to get than the SeeTemp.

I've decided to paint my PP and since I am an aircraft nut, It will have an aircraft theme. I've been in the USAF for 15 years as an aircraft maintenance technician, so I've become attached to the shades of grey used on most of the airplanes that I have worked on. I wanted to use the same grey that is used on the C-17 Globemaster III, but it ended up a bit darker like what you see on the F-15E. I plan on adding panel lines and rivets on all side of the PP and using common decals and marking that you would find on most aircraft. I'm also a big fan of the WWII style nose art, so that will be incorporated as well. Here is a PhotoShop image of my proposed layout. It is a bit sloppy, I just wanted to visualize it before I got started. "DCC" stands for Dedicated Crew Chief and "11-0073" is the 2 digit year produced followed by the serial number.

The artwork was done by one of my favorite artists for this style, Alberto Vargas.

Let me know what you think.

Awesome plan. Dig the rivets and color scheme.

I think there's a few decent WW2 and 50's USAF fonts for free online, if I recall that would be perfect for this trim.

    Thanks for your service!

I finally finished the assembly on Phlatprinter III #38. It took a couple of weeks, mostly doing stuff on weekends and in the evenings - since I was painting it as I went, that took a good bit of time, as was the reason why it took so long to do. Otherwise it was so easy to put together.
I'll take some photos and see if I can post them here.
I haven't fired it up yet, maybe I can do that tomorrow. I might have to go to HD for a box of fan-fold too.
Is there anything special I would need to do (like side guides) for when I eventually use the machine to cut balsa sheets?

OK, here's some photos of my finished Phlatprinter III. Didn't get to run it yet, have to get some fan-fold, first up will be the jeffersonian F-16.

Awesome choice for your first cuts. ;) :good:
It seemed that the bit might have been set a little deep on the z and is probably why the v tabs didn't hold the parts in.

Started to get the body tricked out and will be adding a laser guide, lights and a stand.

Working on filling in the letters, fun :) Really enjoyed building this CNC machine! Looking forward to cutting out some cool stuff with it!
