Hi All Just to show that I haven't been wasting my precious retirement time over the summer http://www.buildlog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=751 Not exactly a PhlatLaser, but all the design was done in sketchup and all the acetal (delrin) cutting exported via sketchUcam on my Mac. I'ts a 60W laser with a cutting area of 1240x620mm (48" x 24") - z access height is 200mm which is adjustable via a stepper on the bed (bed being the appropriate name, the machine is about a single bed size ). It's still work in progress, but I tested all the optics and mechanics last night with a dummy red laser - all aligned OK so far. Maybe we can get Mark to design a real Phlat Laser after the 3D machine ! Cheers Neil
Great project Neil! Sounds like your moving right along. This is an awesome undertaking, the more I read the more I am drawn in! I see Tweakie is a member on that forum as well so you are in good hands there Good luck on your build brother Mark and Trish
