Cold out here, but I still got a chance to fly. Funny how quickly your extremities can freeze! Mudman1959

 

Mark... most of the flying I do with it is at about 1/3 throttle... It just lopes along. I get about 15 to 20 minutes flights with plenty of battery reserve left. For a all around relaxing airplane to fly this one is it! Put the juice to it and it climbs without stopping. This next summer I plan on going to my Brothers up North and try a little sloping with it off of the sand dunes. As with some of my other planes... I need to stay away from the "Charlie Brown" trees... I put it in the top of one of our trees a couple of days ago. Good thing my youngest Son Gary was here to rescue it. No real damage, just a few scratches. Already back together and flying as the above video shows... Mudman1959 (Lee)

 

The motor will stay in for security reasons... I have never did the slope soaring before so the motor will be a little added assurance that the plane will not land in Lake Michigan... I will try to get some video of it when I do it, But for now it's the build season. I did go out and get my first flight in for the New Year and with the wind kicking around 35 to 40 mph, it was interesting to say the least. All good, it came home unscathed... Mudman1959

 

Ordered the HK 900 mhz 800 mw FPV kit a couple nights ago. I might be building one of these to put it on. I have two different motor choices. One is an 1100 kv motor from bphobbies that swings a 10x5.5 prop with 27 ounces of thrust, but the pitch speed is pretty darn low. I'm not sure if it will work very well...The other motor is an 1880 kv motor from my old Stryker that swings a 6x4, with, I don't have an exact number, but tons of umph

I'll be using an Easycap or something similar, which is basically just an RCA to USB connection, to feed the video from the ground RX to my laptop. I can't wait

Anyone know what it takes to run the program on a PP III?

 

It looks like the g-code doesn't have provision for the z-axis. I am guessing I would set the z-axis depth manually and let it run its cut?

 

I've cut this out on my pp3 and i did not have any problems.

 

It cut fine. No missing steps on my machine, it is running pretty darn accurate.
I saw you guys cutting it on PP1's and thought there was no Z axis control on those machines. Just a bit of confusion on my part.

I followed a link on RCG to this thread.

I am new here and hope i do not offend anyone but could you tell me how i can go about asking someone to cut one of these DII's for me and ship internationaly?
Obvioulsy i would expect to pay 100% of all costs including shipping plus a nice profit on any time someone would spend on cutting out a set of parts.

Sorry if i am being nieve im not sure what the ettiquette is on here for such a request.

I aspire to owning a Phalt Printer of my own one day but i simply dont have the space for it at the moment.

I will be moving jobs and country again within a few months so hopefully our new house will have a hobby room!!

until then i still need a valient volunteer to help me out.

I would be concerned that the shipping and safety would be compromised, you would need to ship in a 18" x 32" x maybe 3-4" box. Ben where do you live? and maybe a postal code would be helpful for anyone interested Maybe we could calculate potential costs and go from there!
