I have met with the local guy from our RC club, here, in Des Moines. I asked him what would be a perfect plane to train with. He said this plane, Tiger Moth from GWS, the small size. The cool part is that he already owns the Phlat Printer, and he couldn't find any plans for it! He said it was the best flying plane he and his son flew! He said it sucks they don't make these kits. So, here is your chance to make this awesome plane happen again! Please let me know if anyone can come up with something similar, and I can ask my friend to cut it for me. Thanks!!!!
Not a Tigermoth but the skyote was a great flying bipe, remove the ailerons & put some dihedral on the wings and it should be a very stable flyer- http://phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=51&t=7291
BTW, these kits are still made. We have several in stock. And yes, they are awesome planes and have an incredible number of aficionados!
As mush of a fan I am of scratch building, for the price of the GMS kit, it would be best to just get the kit. It is very complete, and as you know is a great flying plane. Save the scratch build stuff for other designs.
