HI to all of you out there in Phlatland... is there a tutorial or ? on how to start the mirroring process, I saw Mark do in on a pocket tute, but can't seem to find out how or where I get the necessary info on doing it myself, any and all help is appreciated. Everyone also have a great and safe Memorial day/weekend. Ken
Ken, do you mean mirroring in SU? If so, select the part that you want to mirror. Select the move too and after that press the ctrl button. Move the part to where you want it and right click on it. Select the 'flip along' and select the axis you want to mirror it on. Most likely the red axis.
Yoram, Thank you for the response and info, I seem to have gotten the part moved, fliped however now what I do on the left doesn't translate to the part on the right. I must be missing something? Ken
You never said that you want to have the left part auto complete with the right part, or vise versa. To do that, all you have to do is first make the part a components and than do the flipping as described above.
Thanks again to all, Mark did a tutorial on pocketing wherein he cut a plane in half, and then moved it to the right. Worked on the left half and everything he did was also do to the right. I tried to get into the training portion of Google Sketchup howeve it wouldn't open for me, I will continue to try. I apoligize for not giving all of the facts/actions. I will do better in the future. Ken
I think the way Mark did that was he built one side. Then selected all of that side and right clicked and made it a component. Then Copied ,moved, then flip. Any thing you do on one will also do on the other. Cheers E-T Sometimes SU Is Like Attached files
