Hi guys. I recently purchased the ClearView RC Simulator (http://rcflightsim.com/) and one of the models I like a lot is the Tribute 3D. I decided to build one for myself.

I picked up some sheets of Dollar Tree foam and earlier in the week and decided I would design the plane to fit onto one sheet of Dollar Tree Ready Board. Can't beat the cost! $1 for foamy minus the electronics of course.

I did use a small amount of carbon fiber flat stock to secure the wings and reinforce the elevator.

I covered the ready board with 2" wide color packing tape and put tape on all the edges to prevent the paper from coming loose later on.

I will probably use a Lazertoyz 17g Blue Wonder motor and 10A ESC with a 9x4.7 prop as the power package. 6g servos for the control surfaces should work nicely. Attached files [IMG] [IMG] Tribute3D.cnc (16.7 KB)Â Tribute3D.skp (281.1 KB)Â [IMG]

Larry, Nice job on keeping this a one sheet'r especially for the foam board size! :good:
I bet the packing tape makes the wings solid as a rock
    Thanks for sharing this

Did you remove paper before Cutting? If not what bit do you use for foam and paper?

Rvcr8, I have not weighed it yet, but it feels very light. I should have the AUP weight by tomorrow after I finish mounting the electronics.

Alan, long time since you were here at my place. Other than unexpected trip to hospital this morning for vertigo, I have been fine. Phlatprinter is doing an awesome job once the new rollers were installed.

Matt, I did not remove the paper. It gives the plane a lot of strength that would have otherwise had to been done with carbon fiber. That also keeps the cost down.

Oh, and I used the standard 1/8" burr bit to cut the ready board. You have to lightly sand the edges as the paper does not cut like a razor knife, but that is also why I covered the edges with packing tape.

    EDIT: AUW is 10.65 oz with a BP 2208-14, 20A ESC, 1000mah 2 cell
