    Manifold 2.2 for SketchUp
    Plugin by TIG
    http://forums.sketchucation.com/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=129

    What Manifold for SketchUp does:

Looks at the contents of a selected group and tries to fix it so it is 'manifold' for 3D-printing etc.
The group needs to be a 3D shape which is fully surfaced without internal divisions or intraneous/extraneous geometry/entities...

    When run...

    It removes 'non-face/non-edge' entities.
    It removes 'disconnected geometry'.
    It removes 'unfaced-edges'.
It runs an initial 'health-check' and reports.
    It removes face 'flaps'.
    It heals 'holes'.
    It removes 'internal faces'.
It orients all faces consistently to face 'outwards'.
    It erases 'coplanar edges' [optional].
It 'triangulates' all of the faces [optional].
    It highlights major errors.

    DOWNLOAD:

    Install:
Unzip and place all contents into the the Programfiles>Google>SketchUp>Plugins
folder, then open SketchUp. The plugin works by selecting the 3D model (group) and clicking on the clicking on the Plugins menu to select the Manifold plugin.

Notes: It takes a while to process. You can see the progress in the bottom left corner of SketchUp.

Thanks to TIG for another awesome plugin!

That looks like a good one. How is it compared to netfabb

I ran the wine glass from last night through it and it came up with over 500 errors (small holes mainly) it seems to have do a good job on it. I clicked on one of the last options for triangulation and did not like that result, but other then that the rest looks good.
Netfabb does a great job as well but I have to say on the original wine glass (without the manifold fix) did not turn up any errors. So maybe this looks a little deeper.
Its going to take more testing but it looks like a promising STL fixer right in SketchUp.
We need to give it a try on some of our more complex models and we could compare results.

I just couldn't get Manifold to work or at least play nice with my other plugins. I ended up paying a few bucks for SuSolid and have been very pleased.

work flow- make copies and work those. Things can go wrong fast but with practice and pushing the right repair buttons at the right time, sometimes consecutively I've repaired stuff Netfab could not. SuSolid and SK's own solids functions have really come close to the big boys like SW and Acad but without the niceties.
