    Repetier

    http://www.repetier.com/documentation/repetier-host/

    Hey guyz,
Here is another host to choose from its called Repetier.
We stumbled onto this software when Nick and I sat down to work together on a 3D printer host program that would have all the features we were after. We already drawn up a wish list from the host/controllers that were currently out there and when we found Repetier the list was thrown out the window. It had all the features we needed and then some.
We really like this program and this is the one we have been using to date. We have recently gone out and searched a for newer controllers but I personally find myself coming back to Repetier again and again. Its not with out its own flaws as all of them are, but its very intuitive and you quickly find it has pretty much everything you need in a controller.
Maybe its just that I am a creature of habit but what can I say,I like it :)
Give it a try and see what you think.

Yep I love it sooooooo much now... I'm still in the calibration stage of my build and it's great to work with as everything is there.

    Good deal bro
I am not sure why it does not get as much attention as some of the others, but I think it should :)

    Hey Mark,
Are you running the Repetier firmware? And if so is it any good?
I'm running Marlin and It has issues with the correct temp reading.

    Cheers,
    Pez

    Hi Pez,
I have been noticing the heater temp and looked into trying this viewtopic.php?f=315&t=7472&start=0
I have not tried this yet.
I really do not get that much of a swing in change maybe 5 degrees on either side of the target temp. ( I know thats a lot :D) but I have used it more to the high end and it seems to be working fine.
I have not tried the Repetier firmware as of yet but it looks like it would be worth a try. I do not have the latest Marlin so maybe his version is a lot newer and took care of this? Well have to check into it.
If you do try some of these out please let us know how you make out.
    Thanks Pez

    Cool.
Well I finally got my first print out of my machine last night.

I have build a Prusa Air 2 http://reprap.org/wiki/Prusa_Air_2 (I used my Phlatprinter to cut out the parts in 6mm MDF), with this Im running a RAMPS board with the smart controller from reprapdiscount (EBAY), with Marlin Firmware, off Repetier host.
I did it at .25mm high using a .5 nozzle.

The Prusa Air 2 looks awesome do you have any pics of your completed machine with the Phlatprinter cut parts? Maybe even the SketchUp for the cut files :)
    Thanks bro

For those of you that use this great software and have noticed that the 3d realtime build screen goes wonky after a bit its due to your video card not having the memory/processing power required to display that much realtime information. It will continue to print fine so no worries the software is well written to handle that but if you want your display to continue to the end of the part you will need to upgrade your graphics card. I can say for a fact that the typical graphics that are default with most computer hardware just are not up to snuff.

Is anyone dual printing with the new version of this program?

I am having issues with it.
Starts OK, then when it changes between extruders, the program will track the plotted gcode with the first extruder and be extruding with the other. It's really frustrating as the preview look good then the actual print go's to custard... :(

    Any ideas?

    Matt

Hi Matt only using 1 extruder here but maybe you could ask the guys here: http://forums.reprap.org/list.php?267 and see if they have a solution to this problem.
Hope you get it sorted out soon :good:
