    Hey guyz wanted to share a few pics of the QU-BD extruder being built and of it up and running.
    I have used most extruder's out there during my trials of 3D printing, with the last one being the MK7 Stepstruder from makerbot (which is what the QU-BD is based from) and I have to say this is the best one I have used so far! I have not had a lot of time for testing but right off the bat after the first few test extrudes I knew it was going to be a good one. I hope it works out to be a great extruder for us all to use, because the price is right and the parts are very well done.
    I am most happy to finally see it up and running after it took me so long to get around to building it :D
    This extruder like the rest, still leaves room for perfecting but thats the beauty of open sourcing it to everyone. It will just keep getting better! :good:
    Hope this helps others with their QU-BD extruder builds

    Mark looks like you got this going really really well. By looking at your pics I think I know what may be wrong with mine. It would seem that one set of holes was drilled slightly off causing a kink in the filament. I will tear mine apart to verify if it was the drilling or something moving around again. anyway congrats on the working setup.

    That is great! I am with jovian, I think a handful of blocks are slightly off. No biggy cause like you say this is open source and can be farily easily improved upon. I have an ORD, and I love the way you mounted the extruder sideways. I am so gonna "borrow" that. :dance3:

    What thermistor table did you use?

    The beta in the spec sheet has me worried a bit, my heart say epcos(1) but my head is saying honeywell(7) in Marlin.

    You will want to use the 100K #1
    So it should look like this'

    [pre]//===========================================================================
    //=============================Thermal Settings ============================
    //===========================================================================

    //// Temperature sensor settings:
    // -2 is thermocouple with MAX6675 (only for sensor 0)
    // -1 is thermocouple with AD595
    // 0 is not used
    // 1 is 100k thermistor
    // 2 is 200k thermistor
    // 3 is mendel-parts thermistor
    // 4 is 10k thermistor !! do not use it for a hotend. It gives bad resolution at high temp. !!
    // 5 is ParCan supplied 104GT-2 100K
    // 6 is EPCOS 100k
    // 7 is 100k Honeywell thermistor 135-104LAG-J01

    #define TEMP_SENSOR_0 1
    #define TEMP_SENSOR_1 0
    #define TEMP_SENSOR_2 0
    #define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 1[/pre]

    Hope this helps :)

    Thanks again. I think the saying says you should follow your heart, so I will use your thermistor settings. :D

    I am only using one extruder right now, since I have the sanguinololu, so this is right up my alley. Plus that config lets me use a larger motor, with more torque. More Power Scotty!

    Sorry for the Star Trek Flashback, I need a vacation.

    Cool I ordered a pair... I'm running a Wade style extruder and I'm not getting the results that I would like.. So time for direct extrusion.

    I haven't heard many good things about the filament drive gear on a Qu.bd unit. All the qu-bd swaps over on my side of the street have needed to go to a MBI unit especially at speed. (>100mm/sec) How are you guys dealing with this?
