I decided to get started on the build and it went well so far.
You dont need a lot of room and I did most of it in front of my computer keyboard and a fold up card table.

All the parst were packed well and in there own bags which made assembly easy.

V groove bearings all done and back in thier bags.

One set of parts not in bag fell all over when I dumped big bag out?

I used a 10-32 tap to tap the end for the foot.

The only thing I can say is I would like to see the numbers on the bolt bags be
the same number as thier length.

Waiting on steppers and power supply.

    Cheers

Got a Few More Bits done to the 3-D Bot

It's kinda Weird watching the video so check the orientation carefully!!

I had to tear it all apart and put back together one time. It was eazy and only took a few min.

    Pre Screwed belt clamps.

Lots of CA on the belt per instructions.

Used Heat srink on the all thread.

    Coming together nicely now.

    Power supply from M&T

Cables run "temp" waiting on Extruder

Board Hooked up and firmware flashed

Still cant move the steppers yet because it's looking for the Extruder hot end. :girl_cray2:

    Cheers

Well I was having problems getting my steppers to run without the Extruder. I Rem'd out the extruder min and max temps. Uploaded the to the Arduino and still nothing. I then realized I only had one set of z axis pins on the board. I had the other z axis in the Thermistor pins. :nervous:
I decided to splice the two z axis together instead of soldering in a jumper to the board.

I also didnt have both 12v going to the board only the 11amp one for the heated bed. :questions:
I found a good page to help me with the electronics.

    HXT500 Arm-1.skp
Yea  Stepper are working now :banger:

Now I'm breaking in the belts running a 1"x1" cube.

    Cheers

I got the Extruder from the kick starter QU-DB.

I had some Problems getting it all together. Make sure you watch the QU-BD videos and not just the pictures.

I think there needs some improvement on the screw to add pressure to the filament. :02cents:
I was looking at a Sheer bolt. I did not use it yet.

My first Calibration Block 1x1x1

Not bad still need some tweaking. The Filament has allot to do with the final results.

Here are some other stuff I have been printing. :banger:

    Tree Frog before tweaking.

    After tweaking

This snake Blew My mind after Printing it and I realized it could move and was hinged.

Anvil check out the supports very cool they snapped off after a fight :dance3:

And the Monkey Pumpkin my best print yet. Cig Pack for size. :good:

Over all I'm very happy with the 3-D Bot Thanks M&T for another Great DIY project.

    Cheers

1/3 done I got through the first disk with no problems. Added photos to post 2. Have to hit M&T up for some steppers and a Power supply. I like the size of this as its not to big and should fit on my dresser drawer next to the computer.

Looks great Glen! I can't wait to get our extruders :banger:
Keep up the good work and sorry we didn't get the steppers moving tonight. I will keep looking to see if we can find a way to run the steppers with out having the hot end or bed connected.

You should be able to change the firmware to disregard the temperature. Should be in the configuration.h file or the advanced config h. I will see if i can find the proper place in the code tonight or tomorrow if you dont wwnt to go mucking about

That would be great Nick. We (ET and I) tried a few things last night and look a bit online as well. We didn't really get enough time and I would think it could be done. We commented out the most obvious things like the cold extrude, etc. and set the sensors to 0 for the the extruder as well as heat bed, to no avail. So I am sure we are missing something simple that just hides there in the code taunting us ever time we scroll over it :) Your help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks Nick

    Cool Glen!
I noticed you don't have the ceramic insulation on the hotend. Did you leave it off for a reason?
I saw Mark had his like this in his video too. Just wondering.

Oh that stinks. I got mine together and mounted but I still need to finish a few more things before I can do any testing.

Ok Glen I have not had a chance to work on my extruder much in the last week. Have your prints improved any with experimenting on the settings?
Also is that ABS your printing or PLA? I have been trying PLA only
    Thanks
