    Hello all

I've really been enjoying my PP 3, but It's time to invest in another machine. I've started to get back into woodworking and I've always said that every new project deserves a new tool. :)

I've looked at several sets of plans and read through numerous forum posts and ended up ordering parts from CNCRouterParts for their CRP4848.

Their site said they have a 10-15 day lead time on orders, but I guess that wasn't the case. I ordered everything earlier this week and parts started to arrive yesterday!

Hopefully I will be cutting by Christmas! Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

I bought the same parts back in April as a b-day present to myself but still have yet to build my machine. All my parts are sitting in a corner. Mine will be big enough to put either a 2x4 piece of mdf on there or a whole sheet of depron. It stinks because I need to basically rearrange my workshop for this thing to have a permanent home and is why it's not built yet lol. (my workshop is a huge mess...)

My new PC arrived yesterday. I had to order a older computer since none of my macs have parrallel ports. I picked up a referb Dell to run the Machine(s). The rest of the kit will arrive on Monday. I'm sure I'll need all of the PhlatMinds to help get it up and running. I've been preping the garage to make room. I'll start building the base tomorrow, it will be ~57"x60". Hopefully I can get it done so I can start laying out the 80/20.

Hello again my friends. I've completed my CRP4848, but I'm having some issues with my motors. I have a build log on CNCZone and I explained my problem there, but I know you will know what to do.

My motors are making loud thumping/clunking noise at random spots causing the machine to jerk. After troubleshooting the mechanical parts, I disconnected the motors and ran them. The thumps are still there, the machine just amplifies them.

I'm hoping its something simple, but I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated.

Yea, there is a message on CNCZone about it. The owner says that the Ad script that he runs is triggering the warning. He assures everyone that everything is fine. He is working with Google to fix the warning.

Well,I finally figured out what was causing the motors to thump. The processor driver was set to ACPI (don't ask me to explain that). It was recommended that i switch that driver to Standard. Apparently that can cause interference.

Once that process was complete, the machine moves along just fine. I ran the spiral offset file and Gary's test circles. Both of them looked pretty good.

I need to go back and make sure all of my linear components are still true. I'm sure all of the thumping could cause issues.
