    A couple easy questions.

    1. Is the groove and centerline cut affected by the Inside/Outside overcut percentage?

    2. The PlungeTool depth always defaults to 100%. This depth does not produce a clean plunge thru the bottom of the material especially when cutting wood. Is there a means to have the PlungeTool depth be more than 100%?

    Thanks.

I've often wondered the same thing...does the over-cut have any bearing on the fold, plunge and center-line cuts. Sounds like not...
I just found a local source of 3mm 6mm and 12mm foam board without the paper - and in color 90cmx60cm for $3/sheet! I can't wait to try it out. It's from Korea

no, the depth for those is set seperately, when you activate the tool you can see the depth setting in the edit box at bottom right. you can change it with the arrow keys or just a type a percentage and press enter.
actually, it defaults to the current overcut percentage, but you can type a new number and press enter before clicking for the hole position, to get either deeper holes, or shallow holes (less than material thickness).
combining that with SHIFT-click can give you a circular pocket of any depth. Note that for large circles a regular pocket will cut faster since the plunge hole cutting always does a multipass cut (it limits cut depth to half bit diameter).

Swarfer, Thanks for the comments. I have tried to enter a different percentage for the PlungeTool, but, it does not accept the entry like the groove and centerline do. Is there any other setting I'm missing to allow changing the centerline depth percent? Thanks.

It does accept the entry for me, if I hit 'Enter', but you are right, it doesn't behave like the centerline or the fold tools. The centerline and fold tools retain the new entry until you change it or until you restart SketchUp. The plunge tool goes back to the 'default', the current overcut percentage. If you want to make 10 plunge cuts you in a row you have to set the depth each and every time.

Thanks for the input. After reading the above and going over an old thread related to the plunge tool not changing depth, I looked at the latest SketchUcam download and saw this note. "Plunge holes can have depth and diameter set " . So, that told me I needed a later version of SketchUcam. It works now.
