I recently painted the F22 and Boy is it Blue! Going to have to add some stripes or something to make it where I know which way is up... Mudman1959

Thanks, I'll let you know. I really appreciate how you lay out your builds, The Lill ripper was great till I snapped the wing...I've got another one (with a beefed up wing) waiting for me to get around to putting the electronics into it...
I think I saw a youtube of mudman. I looked like he was flying with a very heavy build. I'm keeping it as light as I can.

I couldn't wait till Friday and flew it this morning. I used an easy underhand toss at it shot up up and away. I had to trim in a it of up elevator - I think I messed up the thrust angle a bit when I shortened the motor mount to make room for the longer motor. Anyway, I had a couple of good flights, Thanks Shaun!
I'll try it again tomorrow with increased elevator throw, roll rate is fantastic. We have to land on a rough dirt and rock strip - no nice grass, so the underside takes a bit of a beating. I'll add a few strips of duct tape - although I hate to add the weight.
Now I need to get my replacement lill ripper in the air (with a stronger wing spar). maybe I'll build a speedy so I can have the full 3DMON fleet. I don't guess you have a biplane design...that would be a nice 4th plane to complement the others.

Glad to hear your maiden went well.
I do have an Ultimate Bipe I designed but still have not cut one and tested it yet. I really need to get around to putting more of my designs out there.

Thanks guys, I put some paint on it and flew it again today, it looks very good in the air. I'll be watching for the 'ultimate bipe'. If you have any other suggested build let me know. I just started a "Fury Flyer". If it works well I will try to work up something similar in sketchup.

here is a picture of the F22 finished product, there's no point in gettin too fancy. belly landing on rocks makes for a short life span...and another [picture of my late 24 inch bluebaby...or at least whats left of it.

3DMON... Not sure if you still monitor this link... I did fly the F22 several times but the motor I had on it was just not enough power for my liking. I was very slow and underpowered so it now hangs quietly on the wall. Not forgotten but just waiting it's chance for a repower... Looking at putting on a Grayson Hobbies Super Megajet on it. I have one on my SU-37 and it has more than enough power. Mudman1959

I've been wondering if you ever got around to flying it. Thanks for the update. The super Mega jet should do the job for sure. I'm thinking yours came out on the heavy side huh?

I need to build a new F22, it was a crowd pleaser...My orangeRx DSM2 receiver decided to brown out,the result was devastating. The good thing about crashes is that you get to build a new one (storage is limited). I have not had a problem with the OrangeRx DSMX receivers and am switching over. I made an alphajet and was not overly impressed -

Bummer about your brown out. That reminds me of how my F22 went in. I fly Futaba and had it on the wrong model....oopsy :).

3DMON... it was Ok at first but after a "Dumb Thumb" or two and several repairs it is now a bit heavier due to having to double up the foam on the wing... It flew great after getting it tweaked in but when you try to fly low and slow in High Alpha things happen fast; Dumb Thumb...

Sounds like it's time to retire it and build a new one....
