You can see the pictures of it at http://www.raptorriot.com It is the plane we fly in a summer long competition. We use 3/8 dow underlayment but I redid it to use the 1/4" FFF The red thing in the one picture is a template for the angle of the verticals Attached files F-22.zip (365.8 KB)Â
This is next on my list! We'd like to do combat and these should work perfect. Can you share with us what Motor you guys are using?
I use a tower pro 2408-21D http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/stor ... er_2408-21 and a tower pro mag8 speed controller http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/stor ... Controller Thinking of putting a Grayson super parkjet combo on it, just for a speedy one. Everyone in the club is required to use the towerpro stuff to keep the playing field as level as possible.
Looks like they moved the page... I keep getting a 404 error but there are a number of motor combos ( Motor/ESC/prop) that are using the 2408 motor at this link http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/stor ... entCat=192 Nice F22's. They are my favorite plane. I have built a few different versions myself but the one that seems to fly the best and hold up well is using a 1/4 FFF wings and tail with a 3/8 fuse. The 3/8 full is a nice plane but you really have to power it up some to take in account of the added weight. The upside it that you really have try and hurt it to actually hurt it.
You would be surprised that there isn't much, if any difference in weight as with the 3/8ths material you do not need ANY carbon fiber at all. My planes come out at 14 ounces with battery, including heavy glue gun glue.
