When you see an error message something like this
" 5.000 is not a valid floating point value."
this means that your regional settings in Windows specify something other than a '.' (point or full stop) as the decimal separator.
Sketchup makes a mess of converting strings of text like "4,67" into a number, it needs to be "4.67".
    so...
you need to change your regional settings to use a "." as the decimal separator and all will be working.

Please add an option to gcode viewer to use "," as a decimal separator. Or have it recognize the use of "," or ".". That would make life a lot easyer...

We do not have the source code for the gplot program so we cannot do this.
Gplot is not the only thing you can use to preview your code.

CAMotics http://camotics.org/ (cannot integrate with Sketchup but does a fair job of simulating the cuts)
    NC corrector http://www.nc-corrector.inf.ua/index_EN.htm

Those are free, and of course you can find many non-free packages.

To integrate with Sketchup (ie, replace gplot) the program needs to take the filename of the gocde file on the command line and open that file after the program opens. Please read the help section on replacing Gplot and follow the instructions.

I tried CAMotics and it works fine the only problem I have with it is that it shows the material by default and you have to click on the 'hide' button in order to see the tool pass. I wrote the owner of the program and he said that he will put it on his 'things to do list', what ever that means. LOL He said that it may be an option to be able to chose the default showing, with material (as it is now) or without material.

in CAMotics if your tool length is less than the material thickness you will not see the cuts properly. adjust the tool length to be longer than the material thickness and you should see the toolpath without hiding the material

I just discovered camotics. It does a very decent job. Thanks for your tip. I had the same issue with it.
