How about the Blue Baby, easy flying RET plane from Tony 55x65. Here is the sketchup file of the 24" version done by crash, of course u can scale it to whatever size u want. Attached files BluBaby_24_RAW.skp (95 KB)Â
The SeaBB is the water version of the BlueBaby.... Very gentle flying plane. The SeaBB was patterned after it and has the same wing and airfoil. The BlueBaby or the SeaBB are both very good choices for a beginner.
Nice when my printer and all components are here by me. I built one from the Flyer. Thanks bye bye Happy Night Alex
I took DS1SFB's pdf from http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1577227 and did it up in sketchup for the phlatprinter and cut out one for my son and his friend. They had never flown RC before and they took to it like ducks to water. I think with all the PS/PS3/XBOX/PC/... they have developed a natural ability to control things. Soon they were moving on to ailerons and aerobatics (game over with a couple of my planes in the process). Now I fly the plane when I just want to sit around and watch something fly around, very relaxing. I made a simple wing baking jig, but rolling the blue foam should be easy. I made a couple of the monoblock version of these when I first started learning RC. They served me well. I have posted the sketchup file - if I am stepping on DS1SFB's toes by posting this then please delete the sketchup. Attached files bb_4.skp (875.7 KB)Â
Nice job Rowedent! Thank you for sharing this and the story. Anything that gets the kids away from the gaming consoles and out doors is a great thing. Mark and Trish Attached files
