Hey guys. I've been flying FPV for a while now. It is just so much fun. Right now I have an Easy star and a quad copter fitted with camera gear. I fly 1280mhz on the video link and 433mhz (Dragonlink) for my r/c control.

Here is a video I shot last week. The video is in a contest where the person with the most views in a week wins a free receiver. If you like it and know anybody who would like to see it please pass it along.
    Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I have some more vids but have not got around to editing any of it. Editing takes me forever sometimes.
Thanks for the announcement Mark, that's too cool of you.

Nathan, it's not a contest I'm putting on but a contest I entered. The contest is for people who own the Dragonlink LRS and is to win a free receiver.

If you know any friends who would like the vid though please pass the youtube link on to them because the winner with the most views wins. :D

    Really good work Shaun !

Neatly put together video and the music is even good !

How far we have come from the early days of r/c when you could barely guarantee to get the a/c back in one piece - now we can stealthily fly through the neighbour's window and see what they are watching on TV - or not

I'll pass this on to a few friends and see if we can get you up the rankings a bit !

Best regards and a Happy Christmas from a currently miserable cold and wet Scotland

Well the results are in. I did not win but I came in 3rd with 1276 views which is awesome. Thanks to all who viewed the video. I hope to get some better videos shot as time goes on.

The winner really deserved it though. His video was spectacular and he had 4190 views. The guy who one it has tried several times in the past and kept losing to someone with just an ok video that had more views.

Here is the video that won. I didn't stand a chance lol. :D

There are no words that can adequately describe this.
One of the most moving videos I've ever seen, and I've seen a few.
This shows the greatness of human potential to do positive things with technology.

Somebody should show stuff like this to the FAA and the AMA.
It really shows the good side of this hobby.

    Thanks for sharing this.

I just wish Florida wasn't so flat. I'd love to fly where he's at in Utah.

Shaun nice job, top 3!
That was a cool video, but if you had scenery like that in your backyard with your quad you would have been first!
Great video, I love when he fly's over the smokestack and it fogs up the lens from the heat! It really make you feel like your flying there.
Cool contest Shaun thanks for letting us be a part of it.

    Yes,

    Thank you for sharing that.
I didn't even know that technology existed until you shared your video Shaun.
    That is absolutely spectacular.
I need to get one of those setups now!

Hey Shaun, great video. Love seeing videos of my old stomping grounds (CFL)!

Questions about your quad setup: What board are you using again? I just upgraded to the 2.0 multiwii on my QSC board and it is working fantastic. I don't know if it is good enough for FPV, but it sure feels like it. Do you fly in acro for your whole flight? I find the auto is just a little too much like someone else's hands are working the sticks for me and can't get used to it. Your thoughts?

Also, how are you mounting your UHF antenna? I am at 1.2 and love the crisp video I get. I bought a used Chainlink UHF and tested it out. I'd like to eventually fly it in my quad (or something like it), but the dipole antenna should be mounted vertically to match the polarization of the TX. Its a pretty honking big (~10") antenna and I'm wondering how the heck I will mount it on the quad. Got a pic?

    Thanks for your help.

    Chris,

    Hey Chris,
I'm using the multiwii as well although I'm still on 1.8. I also only use the wii gyro(acro) when flying fpv. The auto level is nice if you need it to hover level for taking pics or something but I don't use it. As far as the antenna, with the dipole on there the active element(center pin) is the only one that needs to be straight so the the other end just dangles on the bottom. Attached files [IMG]
