I just so=potted this on Craigs List and will be grabbing a sheet for myself. They don't ship but for those close to the southern Detroit area it would be worth the drive. $60  for a 4' X 8' Sheet of 3/4" black HDPE. I see a gantry machine in my future... :D

Bandsaw, tablesaw, Sawsall, jigsaw, skillsaw, Rotozip, hacksaw, even a sharp crosscut lumber saw would work in a pinch.

I used UHMD-PE which is a bit more dense than this plastic for the blocks on my CNC machine. I used wood working tools. I cut the blocks to size using a 14" chop saw (circular saw on an arm) and a drill press with cheap wood bits for pilot and set screw holes and speed-bor spade bits for anything over 1/4" like the holes for the lead screw bearings.

Just be careful because the circular saw produces a bunch of plastic fluff that is similar to that green plastic easter basket grass. If it builds up in a pile and gets pulled into the blade it produces a lot of friction and slows it down fast. My saw has a dust chute but it clogged in less than a second when the fluff started flying so I taped a large trashbag around the chute exit and cut a few holes in it for the air to escape. When drilling make sure to get the bit clear fast if the drill stalls. If not the bit may get locked in a goo of rapidly solidifying plastic.
