    Nice looking machine!
I've looked at that setup a few different times. I think one day I might have to go the Phlatbed route.

Are these plans free? This is the same guy that designed the "BlackToe" CNC right?

I like the design of teh Gantry on this one.

Very cool shoe! Isn't it nice to not have all that dust floating around? LOL

I am intending to work up a cyclone/separator sometime soon, too. Do you have a link for that?

For a simpler separator, take a look at http://www.cgallery.com/jpthien/cy.htm . Just a couple of flat cutouts (mine is 5/8" plywood top and 1/4 masonite for the baffle), left-over threaded rod, and some PVC pipe street elbows. Took me maybe 40 minutes start-to-finish.

I was looking at building up a cyclone and looked at Bill Pentzs's site myself, but it seemed to need an awful lot of power (big HP electric motor), so I looked for an interim solution. This separator seems to get 85-95% of the benefit of the cyclone at a sub-$50 DIY price point (and that includes the new trash can I bought to do mine) using my existing shop vac for power. The design also seems to scale well anywhere from a 5-gallon bucket up to a full blown (pardon the pun) dust collection system. Seemed to do great on the dust from the phlatprinter as well. Now I just need to find a flexible vacuum hose I can build semi-permanent attachment into the phlattie.

for the bed i cut 2" stips of 34 mdf and set them on the side and cut a table to fit. for the foam holder just buildt a frame that fits around a sheet of foam and drill holes to bolt it to the table

I am almost done. But I am not quite sure how to get the Y axix set up. I watched the video dude made for putting it together and he says that on the gantry pieces, you should have the countersunk holes facing inward, if I do that, I have no way of holding the bearings and bolt.
