I finally dusted off my GPS data logger, and put in my Cullaris glider today. Should have did it on the first flight as I caught a killer thermal. Up for 28 minutes on 30 seconds of motor run. The flight captured was a little less thrilling. In the Google Earth shot the lime green line is a small thermal I caught at the end of the flight. It can also be seen on the graph shot around the 7.5 mark. If Mark/Trish open up *.kmz files, I can post it Attached files
This is cool Dave. We added .kmz files to the Phlatforum so you should be good to go. Looking forward to seeing it. Thanks, Mark and Trish
You can't "fly" in 3D on google earth, but you can fly in 2D on the program that it came with. Basically watch a dot go across the map while another goes across the graph. Also not sure if my GPS data logger is off or Google earth if off as some of the flight takes place underground Here's the Google Earth file. I had 2 glider flights today, and 0 lift. Even the buzzards weren't flying. A big old high pressure over us with 0 wind. Attached files Cullaris_1_082810.kmz (6.7 KB)Â
