Well,

Hello everybody, it is a very long time since I posted here, and actually I did any construction. Before I share with you my old construction, I have to confess, I did not build any aircraft for years now, but now I am ready to get back in the "game".
So, I got all the tools from here, PhlatPrinter3 and Phlatformer, so I could build my conceptions... The Fokker EIII is fascinating for me, because was a monoplane in a biplane world and most of all, it has no ailerons. The entire wing is warping, and change the geometry in order to roll. So, that was a project for me...
I manage to build a small airplane, using just the Phlatprinter, and most important, to replicate the wing warping.



It had 3 servos and flew like a champ. This was 5 years ago, and since then, I like to believe, my skills have improved and my next builds will show it... Anyway, all what I'll be using is PhlatPrinter 3 and a hot wire CNC. Also, the Phlatformer.

I will make available for the forum members the G-Code for this airplane as soon as I can... Now, I am in California, and I have no luck finding FanFoldFoam, so I will approach different foam building techniques using the PhlatPtinter.

I know of no place where you can get FFF in SoCal. Been looking for years. I ended up using dollartree foam. All my planes are made from DTF only. I mostly leave the paper on the foam but sometimes peel the paper off of one side.

If you are not familiar with the flighttest site, look for it. The too build only from DTF.

I will test the DTF, but how hard is to clean the paper from the foam. It need to be malleable in order to curb it. What do you think about leaving it under water to have the paper removed?

 

There are two ways to peel the paper.

One is the dry method. Just peel the paper, slowly, off and most of it will come off. Sometimes the paper will rip and it makes the whole process cumber-sum. I don't use this method.

Two is the wet method. I think you can just wet it with water, use a spray bottle to apply it, but I prefer to use the stuff that I buy at the Dollar Tree store. It's called 'Totally Awesome LA Spot Remover'. They have other 'Totally Awesome' products that work just as good, I think. They come in spray bottles. The paper peels off with no residue. Leave it sitting a minute and the foam is dry.

BTW, peel the paper AFTER you cut it, it will handle easier and way better with the paper on it.

 

Well, now I got my CNC controller license back from Mark and first step is to restart the PhlatPrinter. After that I'll start experimenting with the foam boards. Fly3DMon, thank you, definitely I will check them out.

Well, until the SchetchUcam, I tried to reinstall my CNC controller (my old laptop fried with anything inside it was lost) so I got the license # from Mark. However, I am not able to get it running... I tried with the original CNC controller version, the one came with the machine, and I downloaded the new version of the CNC controller software from online. Still no luck...

I downloaded the software from planet cnc, and got the registration key from Mark. However it ask me for the serial number and I don't know where to find it. I watched Mark DVD's but I can not find any mention of this issue.

Let me thank everybody for all the help, and you in particular. Now, my PP3 cut perfect. I did spend the time and read all the materials you provided links to, and despite all my efforts, I was't able to find the solution. In the end, I noticed something... None of the materials were referring to Windows 10... All my Windows laptops have windows 10, so I reinstall on a old laptop, a Windows 7 and guess what. Everything is working perfect. Now, I'm happy that I can cut my airplanes, and I'm sad because the time I lost trying to figure out something as simple as this...
