Free or paid?

    Does it matter if I use the free or paid version of sketchup??
    Also, any recommendation for a cnc to cut 1/32 balsa up to lite ply??

    no, the plugin works with every Sketchup. free/paid, V7 through V2017 (but not the online monstrosity)
    I recommend Sketchup Make 2016

    The makers of the Phlatprinter moved on to the Openbuilds system and one of their kits will do the job well.

    I like the Sphinx because the spindle arrangement gives you more clearance for unusual jobs.
    I currently have an OX belt drive machine.
