Here's a little script that you can place in your SketchUp plugins folder. It will allow you to create gears in SketchUp :) This is what I used to make this simple machine here viewtopic.php?f=19&t=337&start=0
Once you have it in your plugins folder, just start up sketchup and go to the Draw menu at the top of the page from there you can access the Involute Gear menu

Have fun with it ! :D
    Attached files gear3.rb (7.7 KB)Â

It should say 'involute Gear' and 'Key Involute Gear'. Also, I've put mine in the 'Tools' folder and not in the 'Plugins'

I just tried it. It works for me, simply putting it in the plugin folder. Possibly check the size of your "gear3.rb" file. I've always had problems downloading files from this forum, using firefox and that includes this time. Lots of times, the files don't download complete. It's standard practice for me to check each file. It could be just my computer, I don't know?

Mine works fine. It's in the plugins folder.
Kwok could be on to something, maybe just download it again.
