Generated gcode missing segments

    I'm new to Phlatscript (but not to Sketchup) and I'm having a heck of a time getting the generated gcode to come out correctly. The model is very simple:


    Here are the parameters/settings:


    Yet the gcode (shown here in EMC/Axis) is missing segments and the path is isn't even correct:


    Has anyone else come across something like this before? I'm using Phlatscript 0.924 in Sketchup 8 (MacOS X). I've really struggled to figure out what's going on, even redrawing it, and am at a loss to know how to debug it or try a different approach. Any help is appreciated! :)

    That is a strange looking result the way it cuts back over like that.
    If you upload the file I will give it a try on the window 7 system with SU 7 and see how it does. That should tell us if it in the mac version or not.

    The file is now attached (sorry about not including it to begin with). I suspicious it has something to do with moving it via exact coordinates, i.e. selecting the part, clicking the move tool, selecting a point in selection, and then typing in the destination coordinates, e.g. "[0.5, 0.5,]" Sometimes the effect goes away if I just place the part with the mouse without regard to precise location.

    PS: I also think there might be a bug in the multi-pass feature when the material thickness isn't evenly divisible by the multi-pass depth. In the model the material thickness is 0.8" and the multi-pass depth is 1/16", but the generated gcode covers a depth of ~1.0". Separate from the issue above tho.

    There is a default overcut of 140%, so change it to 100% if you want exact depth.

    For some reason you have the circle edges and the outer perimeter edges grouped. I don't think they were a problem, but I deleted the 2 groups before testing.

    Well this is a really strange bug you found, but looks easily avoidable. All you have to do is basically move the part to almost anywhere else then, where you have it and it should work.

    Now to the strangeness. It seems to happen when the lower left corner is placed on the line x=y. You can just draw a 45 deg line that goes through the origin. Then group it, so it doesn't stick and move the lower left corner of the part any where on that line and the bug seems to show up. Other characteristics are it happens to loops cut in the counterclockwise directions. So outside cuts for overhead gantry and inside cuts for under slung gantry. Also, only happens on the last edge of that loop (missing in gcode), but only if that edge is vertical. :?

    metasim, I downloaded your file and it is for SU8. I have not updated my OSX to 10.5 yet so I am still using SU7 on my Mac. I need to convert it to SU7 on one of my other computers unless you want to upload a SU7 version so I can try it on my machine.

    Tim you can keep a copy of 8 on your system and open it in that then save it a version 7 file. Its the way I do it now and it works fine just have to pick 7 from the file type drop down when saving.

    SU8 requires OS 10.5 and above and I only have OS 10.4. I tried updating it to no avail. I have to buy the upgrade for the Mac operating system and I just haven't been willing to spend the money yet.
