This was posted earlier in another thread but I now have video of the maiden flight of the 2nd generation version.

This is a 3mm full fuse plane powered by components from a used Parkzone Sukhoi.

The plane shown in the video has the original Sukhoi prop, but it flys much slower with a GWS 5x3 prop modified to fit the small prop shaft of the Sukhoi motor.

I also learned from building the first ultimate that it is better to install the center fuse support first and then wrap the rear section and glue before proceeding to install the receiver and hook up the control rods for the elevator and rudder.

Next you can glue in the motor assembly and followup by folding over and gluing the front section.

The aileron servos should be hooked up and tested prior to gluing the bottom wing in place.

I found the aileron servo had a burr in one of the pinion gears which caused the servo to bind up. I had to cut an access panel in the side of the fuse in order to repair it by wiping the gears with an Xacto blade to clear the small fragment of nylon which had broken and lodged in the gear set.

The access panel was put back in place with a sheet of 1mm glued over the foam that was cutout.

This gave a tight fit and leaves the access panel available in the event one should need to get in there again.

Securing the main landing gear with Gorilla glue and taping the tail wheel to the rudder complete installation.

EDIT: The sketchup file I posted (downloaded 5 times) was named incorrectly and did not have the latest edits I had made. Somehow I picked up the wrong file to upload.

The bad file is named MicroUltimage.skp

Also, I should have noted that the CNC gcode was created with a beta version of Phlatscript which not everyone may have, so I am including the gcode as well.

Larry that is perfect! Well done, it flys perfect I love it.
I just so happen to have a bunch of 3mm depron so I have to build this on for the show!
Where can I get all the electronics I would need for a plane like this?
Without having to get a Parkzone Sukhoi.
I'm looking for a combo setup that would be a clone of exactly like you have it in this video?
Thank you in advance and thank you for sharing it with us! :)

I have ordered a package of components (mostly from hobbycity) that I intend to use on my next plane, the Baisden Micro Bipe.

These components were recommended by a fellow on RCgroups.

    http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1183599&page=2

There are some closeup pictures posted there on RCgroups on page 3 showing how everything was hooked up.

They implement a brushless motor on a Spektrum AR6400 receiver and I think they would work well for most any of these small micro sized planes.

For the wire harness, I used this (below) for the battery to esc and wire from a computer mouse from esc to rx. Mini Plug Extention for Micro Battery 10cm http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...idProduct=9727

There is another geared motor that might work just as well..

I should have ordered one of these to try out, but guess it will have to wait till next time.

Costwise, it might just be cheaper to buy the Sukhoi for parts since you still have to come up with landing gear...

For those who may already have downloaded the su file, please note that it has been updated. See post 1.

    Sorry for the mixup.
