    7.3kg/cm

What is the value above when converted to US English values in respect to a stepper motor?

101.324 oz/in is what I got. Does that sound right?

    Google calculator gives me this:

    7.3 (kg / cm) = 654.049802 oz / in

    Hmmm...

    Google tells me...

    1 kilogram = 35.2739619 ounces

    35.27 x 7.3 = 257.47

    Confused ;)

It,s 101oz in. You devide by 2.54, 1in is 2.54cm. The force at 1cm is much higher than the force at 1in.

Then I guess I was right the first time..??

If those are in fact 100 oz/in steppers they would be great for my hotwire CNC I am planning on building.

Thank you guys. If you happen to run across any info on these motors please post it.

Not sure Shaun but that is what it gave me too when I tried it and it just didn't sound right. That is why I came here and asked.

The problem is the units. Torque is a product, force x distance. It's kg x cm (lots of times written kg-cm), not kg/cm

    7.3 kg-cm = 1000 x 7.3g (oz/28.4g) x cm (in/2.54cm) = 101.2 oz-in

7up what's wrong with the VEXTA PK266-02A that people are using on their PP? That's what I would use.

Nothing wrong with the Vexta motors, in fact I have several extra ones. I was just curious about these other ones.

Mark, I'm always open to a good conversion.
