Anyone have or know of plans for a Paraglider/Para ???, the one with the parachute not the hang glider type. Gondola and chute type, full size or RC scale would work.

Maybe I'll have to start from scratch..?

I wonder if we could make a foamie kite?
It was really windy here the other day and I thought that may be cool to try :)

Parafoil! That's what I was trying to think of. Thanks Dennis, I appreciate the links.

Mark, I'm sure if you had time you could come up with some sorta foam kite.

Hey, wait  , Dennis is a kite guy also, I'm sure he would have some good input...

Mark, it would absolutely work, but the design would be more complicated than the typical kite. On kites, we simply build the carbon frame to force the ripstop material to hold the shape we want, but with a stiff covering like foam, the foam will need to be cut to the same shape. Of course, I'm talking about 2-line and 4-line steerable stunt kites, because the typical single-line diamond shaped kite would be a snap.
I'll bet they would fly in 5-10 mph winds with no problem, but the 20+ mph stuff that most folks think of as "kite weather" would probably fold them, just before they stretched your arms like a gorilla.

for those who need a visual reference, you could check out my ancient website at http://home.earthlink.net/~f1shback/index.html

Or, you could make one of these if you have any pink foam: [IMG]
