Well, its been almost 2 years since I first got my Phlatprinter. The Easy CNC controller finally gave up the ghost and could not be fixed by simply swapping a chip or two, so I broke down an purchased a Gecko GS540 controller which is on sale this month.

The Gecko controller encouraged me come up with something more appropriate than just bolting it on the the side of the machine out in the raw like before.

I now had a relay board, a different power supply, fans and such. The side of my machine was crammed with all of these circuit boards and just begging to get broken or damaged with the slightest of mistakes.

My friend and fellow Phlathead, johnbernard36 had just completed his behemoth of table top CNC machine that would slice thru MDF like butter, so I set out to build a box suitable for housing all of the electronics.

After test cutting it in FFF, I brought a nice new sheet of 1/4" MDF over to John and had him route out the parts for my new PhlatController.

What a joy to watch a precision machine slice thru MDF like it was nothing.

    Thanks John!!

If anyone would like the plans, PM me. Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

That's a nice controller box Flash! I ought to do something very similar for my 4X4 Hybrid. I'm sending a PM.
John Bernard is a huge source of info about power supplies, Gecko controllers, inexpensive E-Stop switches and how to wire the world for CNC.
