Not really a mod, but using a wrag and a jar of metal polish from your local auto parts store (or I think I got mine at Andersons) will reduce friction and make you feel better!

Reference this stuff, it's what I used:
    Blue Magic

You can get really good results with a little effort.
I also used this on the all threads as it was running, I did get improved results, but I would recommend doing it prior to running as you do have to clean it off to get the benefit, but I'm lazy and figured what the hey, I'll let it do the rubbing.

I purchased some linear bearings for the kit, so it is important to have as clean and smooth linear rail as possible.

So I threw my 1/2inch under some hot water and scrubbed it with a sanding sponge dried them off and then one by one chucked in the cordless drill, soaked a shop rag in "Brasso" and in less than 5 mins a smooth shinny rail.

The bearings are supper smooth now.

    Great tip.

As I am off sick this week, nothing major, so no worry I have a bit of time for myself.

I managed to find the motivation to polish the rod rather than to sit on the sofa thinking of doing things, but not breaking the inertia to actually stand up and do any them.

So I had bought something called Autosol from Halfords here in the UK, and it did the trick. so much dirt removed. Now it is almost mirror like, except for the grooves in the rod I couldn't notice before because of the dirt.

I think I managed to rotate them after i reinstalled them so the deepest/most groves are facing down.

Should you oil them after (wd 40) ?

Should I also do it on the allthread?
I am a bit worried doing this. I am considering getting the ZBF
Especially i am about to send back the tap firetrappe lent me ages ago.
