Nice, mind if I offer it through my SmallPlyParts cnc service? I had just drawn up the same basic thing.

I cut and installed my mounts today. I had to tweak them a little to make them work right without any binding with the original slots. I also added triangles to keep things square and add strength.
I edited my first post with the new Sketchup and gcode files with the additions and tweaks I had to make.
They work great. Attached files [IMG]

Yeah I already downloaded the the cut files... I just didn't know what BST meant. Thanks for telling me.

Now I have to find some 1/16 plywood. The hobby shop has some but it is only 12" long. Not long enough to feed through the printer. :(

You can always tape some foam or posterboard to the plywood to extend the length for feeding....

shawn, i was looking at your photo agian, and i noticed you didnt install the bushings right, unless you like it that way. when i first built it i was going to do square bushings. but decited round would not bind, as it piviots like a indepent suspension....if you did that on purpose, well disregard this post...peace, randy.

I used a 3/4" dowel. I put it in perpendicular to your red cylinder in your pic. It works perfect, no binding whatsoever.
    Thanks,
    Shaun

What about the front roller? This is where I see the most good for this mod. If I press down on the roller while cutting it eliminates the wave issues (high and low points....hate it when I have to dig foam out by hand to get a spar in place....). It will also help when cutting ply or balsa....mine tends to push the material up just before it plunges through....

I was thinking the same thing. In fact I posted a simialr statement in the other thread. I went ahead and did it. It does seem to help with wavy foam.

Cool! I'm going to give it a try too....

I did find that I need to add the adjustable fence in order to cut the 1/16 ply....the bit bushes the ply around rather than just cutting it....

Shaun, i was wondering if you ever installed the top lid latches....and was wondering what you came up with??.....also some were down the road, i think i am gonna do the dennis roller lead bb-shot mod, and your fence mod. i tried to cut some wood lastweek, and had it move on me....randy.

I still haven't got around to putting the latches on yet LOL. I got the same types as you, it's all home depot had. If the lid raises up on me I've just been sticking some weight up there  .
Make sure you put masking tape along the edges. It shouldn't move then. I don't have any problems with wood moving anymore.

I did the spring mod to the front and back roller but have not found it necessary to instal the latches ...yet. I have not had an issue with the lid lifting so far. Maybe the springs I'm using are lighter. They seem to work great at keeping the foam down though.
