    Hello,

    Very cool web-site and technology.

I am an architecture instructor looking into this technology to build foam models in the architectural design studio. Is this something others have tried? Models range from small objects to site/landform models.

I do have a little knowledge in the process and wondered what the resolution was on the equipment. If were are creating a site/landform model of stepped contours, what could be expected?

Thanks for your help in advanced.

Neat idea, I wonder how long it would take to carve out a 3D landscape from thick foam?
Resolution is very fine in the XYZ, however the bit thickness may limit what can actually be done. Thinner the bit, better the resolution, but more passes would be necessary.

I would love to see this done, if anyone wants to try it.

I think Mark has some pics where he has done 3D carvings.

Rob by stepped contours do you mean slice forums? Where models are built up using slices of media. Like we have done here.

We aer always working on building more :)
I have seen a few architectural models that were done this way and they came out very nice.
The Phlatprinter could do these types of models as well
    another example would be

Hi Rob: have you started using the printer? just curious, I am also very intrigued by the technology and the comparative low cost (vs. other 3D approaches), Joe
