Here is a little mod I tried the other night.
I wanted to be able to add a sharpie to the PP and draw with it.
It had mix results because of the unevenness of my drive roller. I later added a rubber band to keep it always springing up to the material and that worked :D

Now all we need is the ability to pocket and it would fill in areas.

I think it was pressing up really hard on the material because I can feel the dent it left behind so it came out sloppy but you get the idea.
You have to be careful because it will want to press right into the material
Here are the files for the cutout. I used 1/16" plywood and cut it at around 5 to 3 Inches per Min. Using the 1/16th bit that Evil-Tunes gave me. You can read more about it here
    viewtopic.php?f=77&t=261&start=0

Here are the files the sharpie holder and the Phlatboyz text for drawing(mainly to show the setup with the PhlatscripT) Also included is the gcode for that file.

As for the graphics in the PhlatscripT parameters I used 1/16th bit width and 1/16th material thickness and the thickness may have to be turned down as well maybe to 1/32? So that it does not press so hard on the material.

Its not perfect but its getting there :D
Maybe you guys have some better ideas for this type of Mod?

It would seem like you need a controlled 1/8" of spring under the pen, to push it up AND provide a springy cushion. Then the writing program would (nominally) move Z up by 1/16" for writing and drawing. That would allow for +/- 1/16" of BlueCor waviness before the pen would come off of, or sink into, the surface of the foam.
And Ray is right - That is very cool Mark. :geek:

    Nice mod!
I think a spring like dorsal said would help alot.
I might have to play with this one.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. Certainly seems like that would work

That is pretty much what I was thinking of.
I bought some springs to try, I just haven't got around to it yet.

It seems like the most logical way to go about it and it should work fine.
I just wish we could find a very short spring loaded marker with 1/8th inch tail we could slide right into the dremel :D
Oh yeah it has to be super cheap too! :)
