Something other than a Dremel?

    You might want to read up on the MkII improvements - you might have better luck with the flexible shaft approach.

    The issue you'll run into using this or any other rotory tool is the thickness of the tool. There is limited space between the X axis roller and the Z axis gantry.

    This looks like it might fit the bill for a table type CNC.

    I looked at the flex shaft but i just don't trust it, I want to be able to cut some slightly thicker stuff like even 1/4 inch MDF.
    I would think the flex shaft would want to twist up on itself.

    Get a Rotozip R20 and the flex shaft for it. After you see it you won't worry about it twisting back on itself.
