Mark, you nailed it! Cuts out with no problem on 39 x 24" Depron. I did use the "cheater" strip (just so I wouldn't have an accident and mess up a sheet of foam) but I don't think it is necessary. Thanks so much!

Ha ha, I know this is an old thread, but I had to show my Funder, "Pinky" rocks!! :D

For shear bang for the buck, this is the finest ship in my hanger!! Loops as big as the sky

Flys like a brick even in winds that ground most of my other planes. Absolutely rock solid performance, even really overpowered and pink like mine :fugly:

I have flown her almost every day this spring so there is a bit of extra glue and tape on this one.

I am thinking this will be the first cutout I make on my new Phlatprinter :dance3:

Broke a prop in a landing this morning but you can bet she will be airworthy again by noon, for lunch break.

I may even use depron and paint it this time. Attached files [IMG]

I wish I had some guys close to me that would fly combat.

I would keep a couple of these around for that alone :p

I like the Funder so much I decided to build a "Big Twin F&L" whilst waiting for my Phlatprinter :p

Built at 125% of the F&L and using two of the 56g 1400kv RCtimers that I use on the 100% version it ought to go just fine :twitch:

I also modified the tail to allow rudder installation. The full size version has no rudders and I find myself still twitching the left stick when I want to straighten out a climb or whatever. In the original thread they swear rudders aren't necessary, and truthfully it does a good job without them, but I really can't help but think they will improve some points of the aircraft.

Now if the mailman would bring me some electronics I could fly it on about an hour or so. Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

Here she is with her guts and night flying garb on.

She flies like a dream, pretty much unlimited vertical and will do loops as big as the sky.

The rudders do add some kick to the tail when tracking loops and drilling holes in the sky, I think they need to be bigger in relation to the fixed portion of rudder.

If you are not flying at night you are missing out!!!!! Attached files [IMG] [IMG]

Here is one I took in front of my house at almost midnight with a GWS Slow Stick. Planning on offering complete night flying kits for the Slow Stick on this site within the next 30-60 days.

The site is just a cover page right now, needs a lot of work, but I have a vision, anyone know a cheap web designer!?

That looks so cool and with the light in the horizon it looks like it's just late sunset.

I built a few Thunder and Lightening twins. I used two 17 or 18 gram outrunners counter-rotating with three blade props (they look cooler). They flew great. I love this airplane. It is fast and stable. Only one in my hanger today. A single motor (20/20lclone), it does great. Somebody needs to design some landing gear for this great, fast, and aerobatic flyer!!!

Chuck, I have been looking for those three bladed props, I just haven't found the right ones for the twin yet.

Also being a prototype for my twin I pan on having retracts in the next one :D

Here is a short clip of the twin flying around really slow and then a landing.
