Another plane I designed that's available is the Speedy. Here's the link: http://www.phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=972 I have quite a few other designs I keep meaning to post but haven't yet. Oh and yes 1/2" foam would be a bit heavy, unless you scaled the plane up a lot.
haha i just went and scaled up the whole model for 1/2" foam and it would make a f22 with a 52" wingspan that would be crazy
Hey 3d, I got that canopy, sadly it did not survive the post office totally intact(. I think I am going to try to glass the inside and see if I can get the shap back
Man that bites. Did they sit on the box or something? I thought for sure it would have survived. I'd be happy to send another one to ya if you'd like.
anyone seriously up for the challenge? heres the file i would love to see this done, the f22 is my favorite jet Attached files 'S Full Fuse F-22.skp (1.2 MB)Â
So this is to be cut from 1/2" foam? All we can get around here is 1/2" green guard. Seems like its the same as the blue stuff, but havent tried it yet. I am motivated to build this, I am having some new facination with bigger planes. I will build a "green beaver " first to see how it is.
It would be so awesome if you guys decide to do the 54" WS 1/2" foam. It would be super cool with some retracts on it too.
so we were thinking a 1000-1100 kv motor with a 12x8 prop. i have to finish some plans for dad before we can start this monster. lol this monster would deffinatly need some retracts on it though, i would not like to belly land this! this project will take quite a while to complete and prolly quite a bit of money... something i am (being a 17 year old kid with no job) running short on. any tips on what kind of power set up we should use? some input would be nice please
Mega parkjet motor from Grayson hobbies. If you can keep it at 2 lbs or less http://www.graysonhobby.com/catalog/gra ... p-645.html
I think you might need something bigger. I have a feeling that 1/2" foam being that big is gonna add up pretty quick. Something swinging a 10-12" prop will probably be the ticket.
Look at one of these. They are meant to run with a 12" prop and are in stock, for change. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... 0Kv_/_770W http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... :_AXi_2826
Well, with 1/2 inch foam you at least won't have to resize any slots or anything, just double the size of the plans and cut it out, bending it all to work together might be hard to do.
so heres what i got for the layout of the parts on 24x84 sheets of half inch foam. i didnt make a code for it cause i dont even know if the phlat printer can handle 24" as a safe area. if you guys could help me out and make any improvements necessary that would be awesome. thanks ps those motors look good for this plane Attached files 'S Full Fuse F-22.skp (917.9 KB)Â
I took a little off from the main wing and added it to the front portion to allow it to fit on a 23" width. If you wanted it to go on a 22" you would need to redo the layout on the parts. I think the 23" would be best because then you wouldn't need to use another piece of foam. Just try to get your half sheet cut straight. The attached file has the slight modification to get it on the 23" width. Good job on the layout Alex! Attached files 'S Full Fuse F-22 200 Percent.skp (908.7 KB)Â
dang shaun you work to fast for me! i have a different layout also but i think i like that one better. this on is on a 22x90 cause dad told me i could have 90 on the length. here is the other one, Attached files 'S Full Fuse F-22.skp (980.8 KB)Â
That works good too Alex. As far as the folds go. I would recommend adding a few more fold lines since your using 1/2" foam. Maybe even double the amount of lines because they are the perfect amount right now for 1/4" foam. Also don't forget to re size the servo openings.
