I was working on this Jet before the PP.

So I converted It from the parkjet plans to SU. The page is here and has a link to the rcgroups build log. http://www.parkjets.com/fantrainer.html

My friend built and flew it once and the batt. was smashed as far FWD as he could get it so I revamped it W/ longer fuse and I think 1" around the side and back of the wing.

The rebuilt FanTrainer flys like a dream. I would Suggest putting Squewers or CF from T tail down to fuse. Ours dosen't have them and flys fine but the tail is floppy The next one will have CF.

You will have to do the G-code and make the Holes for your size fan. she dosen't need lots of thrust. I think this one is setup for 56mm with a 24-45-3790kV Brushless. It's out of my Diablo. The CG is on the spar and have been flying it just in front of as my friend is a new flyer. Hopefully will have Video soon. Still cold here in Southern NJ.

    Cheers

This is the plane I used for my contest entry picture. The one I build had a 36" wingspan (needed about a 46" to be more scale) and carried a 1.1kw 3.5" fan. It flew basicly at one speed in any direction and power off even with the flaps it was a brick.
I didn't use any carbon in it, just 1/32 plywood on both sides of the wings and tail.

Well my test flights didnt end well. Even with two spars the wing was to floppy. I had a 1/8" spar and then a smaller rod forward of that and the wing flexed enough to cause uncrontrollable roll as soon as you pulled back on the elevator.

I'll cout out a new nose and try beefing up the wing.

In the .skp file are two strips that I couldn't figure out where they belong to, see attached picture. Any idea?

I thinl they are for the tail to try and stop some wiggle. I never did use them just a bamboo stick.
