Eric, what are the inside dimensions for the control board? I'm getting a SmoothStepper board and would want to put that in there alongside my Mechatronics board (http://www.easy-cnc.com/3axisdriver.html ) - it measures approx. 4.18 X 5.425 X1.125 thk, with an attach pattern that's approx. 3.2 X 5.0. The SmoothStepper board is 2.75 X 3.625, with a 2.00 X 3.225 attach pattern ( http://www.warp9td.com/images/fbfiles/f ... 5663e1.pdf ).
I don't believe it would fit, next to the controller board. Now that I look closely, I don't believe the Mechatronics board will fit anyway.

    Hi Dorsal,

I can make the box to what ever size you like.
Not a big issue whats so ever.

I will get something worked up for you and post the tech/cad drawing.

Remember that when I started this it was just somthing I wanted for my machine. I will make this box universial now that other want it and/or custom each box.

I was talking about the 4 screw holes through the circuit board, to attach it to the box. I presume you pre-drilled the holes in YOUR enclosure, so I was just pointing out the attach pattern for the Mechatronics board is different than your control board. It may be best to leave any holes out of the "bottom" plate, to allow us to drill our own holes to attach the circuit boards.

    Hi Dorsal,

Thats correct, since it will be aluminum and very easy to drill I am going to leave them out.

Have you had a chance to see my post in the "Controller board" area?

Yeah, I was just about to wander out there and take the digital calipers to hand.

I'd still need to see the interior dimensions of the enclosure you made for the Easy-cnc control board, before I'll "make a donation". If it won't meet all my needs, I'll leave it for the next guy to buy. :|

Kind of in at the end but if I am not mistaken, you are making a standard box for the board that comes with the premium pp kit right?

Then you can / will look at custom work for other types of boards and / or setups?

I'm in for one that will lock the printer port so you can't break it by mistake.

    Yes Tony,

I can / will do custom work as well, mill, etch, and laser cut parts etc. I can even do vinyl decals lol.

The enclosure I made for my Controller does what you are talking about. It allows you to mount the 25 pin "printer port" to the enclosure so that the pressure from when you install the cable or when any tension is put on it, the enclosure consumes the movement and not the PCB where the port is soldered to and/or its solder joints.

If you look back in the threads you can see where this was one of my fav things that were achived by using this enclosure.

    Thanks for the post,
    Eric
