I wanted to get a plane up and flying quickly so I decided to make this flying wing. Pretty simple based onthe Blucor flying wing on RC groups. Was really to see if I could make another flying wing and how well it would work, How quick one could be milled out on the phlatprinter about 40 minutes, practice makeing landing gear, and try out phaltforming some canopies. Here are some pics and I am uploading some video to youtube now. The sketchup files are a bit of a mess but if anyone wants them I will be happy to post them.

I can't believe that that little square of wood is all that is holding the landing gears! Must be a very soft landing!

Can you please post the skp file?

The file doesn't look messy to me. It looks ok just needs the code file. I opened it and re-saved it in SU7
Cool project Nick, love the phlatformed canopy and looks like it flys nice
    Thanks for sharing :good:

I'm sure it's not messy, Mark. I wrote that since Jovian wrote it's messy. I didn't have a chance to see it since it was in SU 8 format. See the smiley I've put next to the statement? :fugly: Is the SU 7 the same file above?

Thanks, jovian. I'm not about to install 7 any time soon. Too many problems. I have no problems whats so ever with 7 so I stay with it.

You can run Both SU 7 & 8 on the same machine. You can also make SU 7 the defalut program.

I decided to take the gear off and when flying one of the vertical stabalizers came off. Still flew great so on the next flight I took off the other one, not really caring if it went in. To my surprise it flew even better. heres the video
edit Added return so post looked better

I can't believe it flew so well without the fins. It puts to shame all the theories about how a wing only design without a lots of computers is difficult to fly. That's what they say about the B-2 anyway.

Now I really need the SU 7 file!!!

Yea, I had a Zagi WAY back when. It came with the tip fins. We used to do plane to plane combat with them. I lost one in the air once on a pretty decent hit; so I did like you, took the other one off. It did seem to fly a little better, but at lower speeds it wanted to "slip" out of a turn.
