Origami Boat Plans

    Hi All,

    This pattern is a simple example of a lot of patterns for cutting aluminum or steel sheets that can be bent and joined by welding to construct frame-less hulls for small to medium size yachts with sails, engines or both. There is a Yahoo discussion group "origamiboats" and several websites for companies that manufacture yachts with frame-less metal hulls.
    Go to http://origamimagic.com/ for a website that might inspire the development of code for cutting panels for some foamygamimagic yacht models.

    OMG, that's very along the line of what I been mulling over. But never thought about this particular application. I'm off the read up on these "Origami Boats", thanks! :)

    Nice! Now I wonder if we use foam and styrospray if it would float without the foam becoming saturated with the water? Also I think we could allow for thickness of the foam with and offset setting to ensure that no matter what thickness foam we use the bends will work out right.
