I will have to try it that way Yoram. I will do this before I change out the vacuum table lol Mike we will be changing out the table on this one
I just did a quick calculation, and if an egg is 1.5" across at its widest, and 2.25" long, it has a surface area of 9.57 square inches. http://www.ehow.com/how_5515340_estimat ... a-egg.html If that vacuum were only reducing the pressure by 1/4 atmosphere (3.5 psi) then that's the equivalent of compressing on the egg with 33.5 pounds of pressure. No wonder it went splat.
Dorsal that's awesome! You guys amaze me with some of the calculations you come up with, I love it Thank you for sharing this. I have been wondering how much pressure this thing could pull. Even with this little vacuum it does a great job. One thing that I tried was to take the vacuum filter out and you get even more pull pressure! Last night show I forgot to take it out so that means that little vacuum is more then enough.
Here are some of the hires pics of the final version of the Phlatformer, we posted them on the store but its kinda hard to find them so I thought I should share them here as well. Mark Attached files
WOW Looks Great Mark and Trish, you will be getting my order soon!!!! Congrats on the final product!!!! John
Thanks guys I probably should have blown the dust off before the pics Its really working great I can't stop using it.. I plug it in tonight and am messing with it some more  Mark
?? Reverse gear to un-crush an egg? And call it the "Humpty-Dumpty Gear" ? Or a reverse gear on the vacuum, to blow the mold off the part after forming it?
Here's a quick video we did tonight playing with the Phlatformer It shows more closeup shots of how it works. Hope you like it Mark and Trish
NICE!!! Beethoven is a nice touch.... Back to the egg... silly question.. Why didn't you hard boil it first?
It slices! It dices! It chops and it mops!!! Seriously, great video. It shows details that you can't see on the live show. I have plans to order one before you guys get back from Toledo and start cutting.
Great, thanks 7up! rcav8r, clean up would have been MUCH easier. Maybe we'll have to boil and dye some eggs and give it another try
I will order one soon, just got my tax money in. If you had clearcoated the waffle board it would have been easier to clean up that mess humpty made.
Mark, have you vacume formed over a 3d cutout made from the thick blue and pink foam, I am wondering if the preasure will crush a foam 3d model master.
