Your open rail system would probably work great at creating a Hotwire CNC machine I think? I was looking at one on line that cost either $3 or $6 thousand that was made of extruded metal. So I thought forget that, but your open rail opens lots of possibilities for one I believe.

I'm having a bit of trouble finding a good place for my MKIII. I'd like it to be right next to my workbench so I don't have to set up another computer in the basement to run it. This pretty much leaves my workbench as a stand for my MKIII. It would need to be right smack in the middle of my bench because I don't trust the two leaflets on either end of my workbench to support ~ 60 lbs of machine. I was looking at the MKII stand which only requires 5 2x4's, some wood screws, and a couple L-brackets. Has anybody made a MKIII stand yet? I'd like to make one on casters so that I could move it around easily if need be, and make it just the right size (no extra inches on the the top) to fit the MKIII so that it takes up the least space possible.
